Rules in brief
- Tiles. Four colours (red, yellow, blue, black) numbered 1 to 13, two of each, plus two false jokers — 106 tiles in all.
- Indicator and okey. One tile is turned up as the indicator. The tile of the same colour one number higher is the okey (joker) and can stand in for any tile; after 13 comes 1. The false jokers take the okey’s place.
- Deal and turns. The dealer gets 22 tiles and starts by discarding one; everyone else gets 21. On your turn, draw from the pile or take the tile the player on your left just discarded, then discard one. A tile taken from the side must be used in that hand, or you pay a 101 penalty.
- Opening. Lay down runs (same colour, consecutive numbers, such as 4‑5‑6) and sets (same number, different colours) worth at least 101 points — or at least five pairs. A 1 can start a run (1‑2‑3) but cannot follow 13.
- After opening. You may add tiles to the melds on the table. Discarding a tile that would fit a meld on the table, or discarding the okey, costs 101 penalty points.
- Scoring. The player who finishes scores −101. The others score the total of the tiles left on their rack (doubled if they opened with pairs), or 202 if they never opened. Finishing in one go or with the okey doubles the hand. After the agreed number of hands the lowest total wins.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the game called 101?
Because you need melds worth at least 101 points to open your hand (or at least five pairs).
What is the okey tile?
The okey is the joker of the hand: the tile one number above the indicator, in the same colour. It can replace any tile in a run or set.
Can I play 101 Okey in teams?
Yes. Choose partner mode when you create the table. When your partner finishes, you score 0 for that hand.
Does the lowest score win?
Yes. Finishing gives −101 and tiles left on your rack count against you, so after the last hand the lowest total wins.
What is the rising threshold option?
With it, each player who opens must beat the previous opening — one more point for runs, or one more pair.
