Rules in brief
- Deal. All 52 cards are dealt, 13 to each player. Play and the deal pass counter‑clockwise.
- Bidding. Starting to the dealer’s right, each player speaks once: pass, or bid more than the current bid, from 7 to 13 tricks. If everyone passes the cards are dealt again. (A table option allows several bidding rounds.)
- Trump. The highest bidder names the trump suit and leads to the first trick.
- Play. Follow suit if you can. If you cannot, play any card — a trump to win the trick, or a discard. The highest trump, or else the highest card of the suit led, wins.
- Scoring. If the bidding team makes its bid, it scores the tricks it took and the opponents score nothing. If it fails, the bid is subtracted from its score and the opponents score the tricks they took.
- Kaboot. Taking all 13 tricks on a lower bid scores 16. A bid of 13 scores 26 if made; if it fails the team loses 16 and the opponents score double their tricks. The first team to reach the target wins.
